The work shown here is done on a specially prepared support called Claybord TM. It is a Masonite panel coated in white clay, and then coated with black ink. The drawing is then incised into the ink to reveal the white clay, giving a delicate, elegant black & white drawing.

Clayboard tm is an unusual medium with which to draw, a rigid board is coated with white clay and then with black ink, into which you can draw with a variety of tools, both hand-made and purchased. A challenging medium, it is relatively unforgiving, but with careful planning, it is very rewarding and can result in beautiful drawings.

BLACK & WHITE drawing can be exceptionally beautiful in a room - a single work or a group of black and white pictures can enhance the surrounding decor and give a completed look to your room, while making a lovely collection.
